As for your design style, lets say its Asian inspired. You wouldnt be alone with interest in that motif. The American bath culture has indeed changed. Stressed homeowners seek refuge and solace and thats why so many of us are creating environments in our homes conducive to the Eastern concept of centering. You dont have to be a certified Feng Shui master to recognize this increasing trend. Which translates to simple, clean lines and minimalist features that are a signature of the Asian-influenced design leaning. So hot in home furnishings, its not at all surprising that this thematic has made its way into the kitchen and bath. Its a measure of good design.

But what makes them work so well is that they offer a less is more point of view with linear, sleek and contemporary sensibilities that combine unique and differentiating elements.

Creating An Indoor Or Outdoor Pet Memorial Garden

You can connect to the healing process by creating a pet memorial garden dedicated to your beloved pet. Losing a family dog, cat, or other pet can cause feelings just as strong as when we lose our human companions to death. Finding ways to cope is essential to moving through the grieving process. By creating an indoor or outdoor space in memory of your pet, you are sure to find greater peace as you contemplate positive memories that you shared with your loved one.

The first step in creating a memorial space is to determine whether it would be better suited indoors or outdoors. People who live in apartments or other dwellings without a private backyard will find that they can create a small indoor garden using a planter box or a large plant container. If you have a small porch space, you can place several plant containers in a dedicated space, and add a memorial stone that includes your pets name for a personal touch.

If you do have a private outdoor space, you will find that there are endless opportunities for creating a memorial garden. You may already have a garden space in which you can put a memorial stone, a bench that has been engraved with a special poem that reminds you of your beloved pet, angel figurines, or other objects that honor your pet.

You can also start from scratch with an outdoor space by planting a memorial tree with a stone engraved with your pets name near the tree. This will offer a living tribute to your pet.

Adding wind chimes, hanging your pets tags from a tree, using engraved memorial stones, or putting a framed picture of your pet near your indoor memorial garden are all beautiful ways to remember your pet. No matter what methods you use to honor your pet, create a unique space that speaks to you and that helps you to remember your pet with fond memories.

Whether a newly planted tree, an existing tree, indoor potted plants, an outdoor garden, or any other dedicated space for your pet memorial, you will find that tending to that space offers you solace and a place to honor your special friend. Helping your indoor or outdoor garden grow will also assist you in working through the grieving process. Many families have found that their family members, young and old, are helped through their own process of grieving when they are able to honor their deceased pet with a memory garden.

The Art Of Choosing Indoor-outdoor Carpet

Usually when you think about indoor-outdoor carpet, you probably picture the green plastic stuff that people used to put on their porches, or those green fake grass door mats. Well, that kind of indoor-outdoor carpet is still around and being bought today, but is has grown, so to speak, in the number of styles and colors that you can choose from.

The most popular indoor-outdoor carpet that is being purchased today is made from 100% UV olefin fibers. Indoor-outdoor carpeting made from olefin is more fade resistant, easier to remove stains from, and pretty easy to clean.

As with other types of carpeting, indoor-outdoor varieties are available in different grades that cost different amounts. Check the thickness of the carpet when you go to purchase some, the thicker it feels and looks, probably the better it is.

The lower economy grade of indoor-outdoor carpeting is good for use indoors and outdoors, but only in covered areas that is not likely to be exposed to much bad weather and not too much traffic. Medium grade indoor-outdoor carpeting is good for indoor uses and outdoor uses that will be exposed to the elements.

Higher quality indoor-outdoor carpeting should have a marine backing and is excellent for continual outdoor exposure. There are even higher grades of indoor-outdoor carpeting that have the look and feel of real carpet. This is much of what is being used today for floor covering that you might want to have a more normal carpet look.

At first thought, you might wonder exactly what else indoor-outdoor carpeting is good for besides covering a porch or patio. Actually, indoor-outdoor carpeting has many uses. In a child’s bedroom or playroom it is an excellent choice because it can be easy to care for. Many people use it inside campers and motor homes for these same reasons.

Camping and traveling a lot can get pretty dirty sometimes and the versatility of indoor-outdoor is great. If you own a boat that has a cabin, there could probably not be a better floor covering than indoor-outdoor carpeting. Whenever there can be water tracked in and out of an area like a cruising boat, a pool house or the pool area itself, this kind of floor covering can be great.

Installing indoor-outdoor carpet is a great do it yourself project. Indoor-outdoor carpet is lighter than regular carpeting and is not that difficult to install, especially in small spaces. Be sure and follow installation procedures carefully for the type of surface you are putting the indoor-outdoor carpeting on so you will get the best performance from it.

Things to remember when choosing your bespoke kitchen

So you’re finally here, about to begin the exciting journey of choosing and designing your bespoke kitchen. It’s likely that this has been on your mind a while, unless you’ve just moved in and are looking to improve a kitchen you’ve inherited.

But when it comes to kitchen design, there’s so much to consider. Not only are there your needs to be reconciled with the character of the property you inhabit your bespoke kitchen also needs to be functional and have the wow factor too!

That’s a lot to think about, so where do you begin?

What is your kitchen used for?

The kitchen of the home is far more than the place where food is prepared and the washing up is done; it’s the focal point of the house. Just take the kitchen table: as well as being the place where the family sit down to eat, it might be the place you sit down for discussions, where you entertain, where homework is reluctantly done, where you have a cuppa and chat when your neighbour drops in.

The fridge is not just for preserving perishable food it’s the place where messages are left, where reminders are placed. Your kitchen and its component parts are much more than just drawings on a plan, they’re places where you will live your life.

So before rushing into choosing and designing your kitchen, take a good look at who uses it, what it’s used for, or what you’d like to be able to use it for that you can’t at present.

Planning

When designing your kitchen, it’s also important not to get carried away with being too “”design-y””. When talking to a professional kitchen designer, remember to ground your design in the functional and practical where are the service points in your kitchen? Can they be retained (recommended if at all possible as it can add substantially to your budget to relocate them)?
Most kitchens will have significant space restraints meaning storage is at a premium, and remember that the thoroughfares between the cooker, sink and fridge ought to be kept clear as well.

Style the devil’s in the details

Whether it’s a bespoke chic, contemporary kitchen with a white minimalist finish; or the handmade kitchen in the country cottage, it’s the little touches that can make all the difference.
It could be an innovative storage solution, it might be a set of striking taps whatever it is, these are the little touches that make your kitchen a place you (and your friends) want to spend time in.

But of course, when it comes to bespoke kitchen design you’re not the only customer. Your kitchen has to be congruous with your home, it has to respect it, enhance it. A good kitchen designer can help you with that.

Tea – An Easy Way to Clean Your Wood Flooring

Here’s a great tip from to get a rich shine from your wood flooring. Black tea – we’re afraid milk and two sugars doesn’t quite work – is a great cleaning agent, as well as being cheap and environmentally sound.

The trick is in the tannic acid, which help to bring out rich wood colours. Simply steep 5-10 tea bags in a litre or two of boiling water for around ten minutes. This may seem like a lot, but its necessary to make a brew strong enough to clean properly. Afterwards, remove the bags and allow to cool.

You’ll then need to wash the floor as usual, either with a mixture of warm water and vinegar or your normal cleaning product. It’s important to never wash hardwood with hot water as this can damage the finish.

Straight afterwards, mop over the tea mixture and leave to dry. Almost immediately, you’ll notice the difference with a deep, rich shine. If you like, you can buff the floor further with a dry, clean cloth.

Alternatively, the tea can be poured in a spray bottle and sprayed directly on the floor in sections. This makes an excellent furniture polish too, and is a great way to get the kids involved. As tea is non-toxic, there’s no need to worry about inhaling fumes or getting damaging chemicals on sensitive skin.

Remember though, this will only work with unsweetened black tea. Flavoured and herbal teas don’t have the necessary tannins, and could do more harm than good, while a brew with sugar will leave an unappealing sticky layer. It’s also wise to dust mop your wood flooring at least weekly to stop large debris from building up, which can scratch the surface when trod in.

However, if you do find deep scratches, all is not lost. Here’s another good trick – after you have cleaned the floor and applied the tea solution, let it dry as normal. Then take a crayon that’s a similar colour to your finish – the closer the better – and rub it into the scratch until it is filled. Then heat the damaged area with a hair drier until its blended in and leave for a moment to set. A quick buff with another clean, dry cloth and your wood floor should be as good as new. Easy!

Kids Scooter Accessories Increase Outdoor Fun

The timeless scooter is a lot of fun and a wonderful form of exercise. Using a scooter helps children improve their balance and agility and helps build physical endurance. Scooters have long been a popular choice for kids when it comes to outdoor play.

Why not enhance a child’s scooter with Kids Scooter Accessories?

Any girl would most definitely love to have her scooter decorated with beautiful flower stickers and sparkly gems. A boy would enjoy being able to personalise his scooter with some cool flame stickers. Perhaps a child would like to decorate their scooter with their name using alphabet stickers. There’s no need to worry about the quality of the stickers. They are made of PVC and are weather resistant.

Of course, boys and girls alike would enjoy having a fun horn to honk as they make their way around the neighbourhood. After all, the more noise, the better as far as children are concerned. Don’t forget the streamers! Pink, blue and long, short are just a few of the options that exist as far as streamers are concerned.

As always, safety is a very important consideration for any parent when it comes to the toys their children use. There are various micro scooter accessories that are available to help improve the safety of a scooter such as non-slip grips that allow the child to have better footing when riding a scooter. The grips come in fun designs and, just like the stickers, are made from weather resistant PVC.

Of course, as a parent, while it is a lot of fun to take your child to a nearby park to ride his or her scooter, kids may get tired after having been so active, and the mom or dad may have to carry the scooter home while the child rests comfortably in their buggy. An easy solution to this is to buy a scooter hook. It easily hooks to the buggy’s handlebars and frees up the parent’s hands.

Kids Scooter Accessories will make your child’s scooter stand out from the crowd which will encourage your child to use it more often. They are perfect for a birthday or holiday gift or perhaps even as a reward for a recent accomplishment your child has made. Kids Scooter Accessories are such an affordable way to inspire your child to be more active outdoors!
